Synopsis[]
Rain and Fara are driving to St. Hallvard High School to start Rain's first day there. Fara is also a teacher there.
Fara asks if Rain is nervous, to which she replies affirmatively. Fara attempts to reassure Rain, saying that:
a)She has just as much of a right as anyone else to go to school and
b)She is "so amazingly obsessive-compulsiveabout passing" that she will pass easily.
Note: Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a complex, recognized mental disorder that is quite different from the common public perception of it. Thus, Fara was most likely using the term as a metaphor for Rain's perfectionism about passing.
Rain is not reassured by this, countering that Fara's first point amounts to saying people will bully her for being different, and her second point amounts to saying she is neurotic.
Note: Neurotic is, like obsessive-compulsive disorder, a complex psychological term quite different from the public perception of it. Rain most likely does not fully understand the term and is just using it as another word for perfectionism/extreme attention to detail.

I'd like everyone to be aware that out of all of the 30+ pages I currently have prepared, this is my absolute LEAST favorite. I just don't like it. Maybe it's the layout or all the lazy copy/pasting or the fact that I can't draw cars worth crap.
Thinking positively though, that means it really only gets better from here.
Or maybe you'll like it more than I do. ^_^

Well, try not to let it get to you. I wouldn't have allowed you to go through with this at all if I didn't think you could pull it off. I mean, all you're doing is going to school, which isn't hurting anybody, and you have just as much right as anyone to do. Sure, there are closed-minded idiots offended and dismayed by everything who might get bent out of shape about it, but you're so amazingly obsessive-compulsive about passing perfectly that I don't even think you have to worry about it. | |||
So... which part of that was supposed to make me feel better? Getting abused for being different or my being neurotic? | |||
