Author's Note Edit
Poor, little Ryan.
Let it be said, that I’ve read MANY webcomics in my time. And I have at least a dozen times seen a point in which the author attempts to put some serious moments into their otherwise “joke of the day” comic for the purpose of directing the story. There are always a few understanding people who want to see where the author will take this direction (like me). But I’ve noticed some people actually get bent out of shape over it too “because it’s not what they’re reading the comic for”.
So, let me get this out of the way right now: Rain IS a comedy, but it’s also a drama. Just as in life, sometimes there won’t always be a punchline. (And then, sometimes the joke is in the middle of the page rather than the bottom. I like to spice it up, you see.)
Oh, and I'm not sure if this is obvious or not, so I'd like to add that the woman is "Ryan's" mother. The other kids are older siblings.
Ryan, honey. You can't be a mommy. Only girls can be mommies.
Then I'll be a girl too!
Sweetie, you can't be a girl.
I'm sorry, honey. It just doesn't work like that.
But that's not fair.
Don't worry. I know you'll make a great daddy someday.
NO! I don't wanna be a daddy! I... I... WAAAAAH!!
